I was getting a little worried that I might have hit a dead end with my wire work. That I wasn’t getting any better, just doing the same type of thing over and over. Everything was different but the skill level wasn’t improving.
Well, today, I think I finally stepped it up. I made a bigger piece with more dynamic elements. It is loosely based on a Dodo bird, but more of the cartoonized Dodo, rather than the actual bird; taller and goofier looking.
It was really hard to get this guy to stand up on its own, but after a few minutes of tweaking and bending I found the perfect balance. Now I am afraid to move it!

This sculpture is so beautiful! Have you considered selling these? If I had money, I would ask to buy this guy.
People have asked to buy things, but I can’t take them seriously! Really? You want to PAY for twisted garden wire? I wouldn’t even know what to charge!
We’d love to commission and buy one (but it would be hard to choose just one!). I think you should do this as an artist/crafter – selling at craft fairs, etc. – or maybe in shops that are arts/crafts co-operatives….
