Two and a half years ago I wrote a post about Friday the thirteenth in which I discovered that they aren’t so special or uncommon after all. Today we find ourselves in a similar situation, except today is a bit more unique.

Unlike in 2012, when there were three Friday the thirteenths on the books, this year there is only one. And it’s right now. So soak it in people; literally, there’s rain in the forecast.

If there’s only one Friday the thirteenth this year, what makes it special? WELL I’LL TELL YOU! There is also a full moon tonight! So, be on the lookout for werewolves and a general heightened sense of lunacy.

What else is special about today? This is the last time that a full moon and a Friday the thirteenth will coincide until August, 2049!

While it’s never been proven that a full moon actually changes people’s behaviour, it is pretty clear that because people *think* it will, they respond accordingly. Police data shows that people behave in a more mentally unstable way resulting in more arrests.

What I’m trying to say is, if you’ve been itching to act out, today’s your best excuse to do it.
