It’s Oscar night! One of my favourite nights of the year for absolutely no reason! Except that I love miovies, I love fancy dresses, and I love seeing movie stars in fancy dresses.

In past years I’ve tried to watch all the Best Picture nominees (even the tedious Tree of Life) so I can judge properly whether or not the winner deserved to win (in my expert opinion). This year I didn’t quite get it done. I think I saw maybe 2 of the nominated films. This means I don’t have any strong feelings towards anyone or anything in particular winning. Though, I do have serious crushes on Jennifer Lawrence and Ben Afflect (‘s beard) so I want them to do well.

Regardless, the night should be a good one! I’m planning to eat delicious finger foods, hang out with hilarious friends, and probably live tweet the whole event. (Check out my Twitter tonight @outloudkat if you want to feel like you’re watching the broadcast with me!)
