So, I was checking out my blog stats the other day when I came across something, well, let’s call it interesting. For those of you who don’t know, or don’t have a blog, there is a page that shows your site’s statistics; things like how many people viewed your site, what entry was most popular, most commented post, etc. There is also a section for how viewers got to your site, so what link they clicked on and from where (mine are mostly linked back to Facebook because that’s where I regularly post links). What was interesting on this recent visit was in the “search terms” section.
Someone used a search engine to look up the phrase “fondled on a train” – as if that’s not weird enough, somehow this search brought them to my blog. When I saw this I started racking my brain; Have I ever written about getting fondled on a train? Or, perhaps fondling someone on a train? I could not think of anything. But, you know, sometimes when I write I take little detours from the point I’m trying to make, and it’s possible, I guess, that I might have mentioned something about travelling fondlers (Note: If you remember me writing about this, let me know!) Regardless of what a weird and unfortunate search topic that is (maybe they were doing research for a Euro Trip sequel), at least it got my site a view.
Also, someone searched “thamk you for beging a freind word to.” I can only assume this person meant “thank you for being a friend…word to,” which I definitely did have in a post. I am impressed that that lacklustre attempt at spelling actually yielded him/her a positive search result. Whatever search engine this person is using, I want it.

have you tried searching ‘fondled on a train’ yourself?
Doing such a thing had not occurred me. And I am not afraid to say I’d be worried about what I’d find.
With trepidation I tried a search with fondl* AND train* . Quite a few worrisome results. Also information about “women-only” coaches – for very good reason apparently…

Hilarious. I always get “Belinda Stronach in a bikini”.
Haha, I guess we will both get more results from it now that we’ve actually written posts with those words!
